Accords and Maximas hold higher residuals since Mitsubishi is know for slashing prices, thus slashing residuals. The new Maxima definately has more features over the Accord, but that reflects in the price tag. Accord is the safest beat, go Maxima if you have the $$$.

Depends on your situation. If Money is no object, the decision is easy. The Maxima way outclasses the other 2, but you will pay for it.
Our Family has had 2 Galants since 2000 (2000 and 2004) and we have been very happy with both. Good reliability and the new model is very roomy.
The Galant 4 cylinder is a dog, though, because the car is so heavy. The 6 cylinder is a great value and fun to drive.
The Accord is similar. The 4 cylinder is Basic Transportation with adequate stying. The 6 cylinder is much better....especially if you drive the 6-speed Coupe.
Good luck....

The first thing you should do is take all three for a test drive. The Accord has been a great seller for some time now, but in my opinion, they are overrated. My dad has a 2005 coupe, and I've driven it several times. I didn't find anything special about it, at least nothing that makes it light years ahead of the competition. The Maxima is also a nice car, and though I haven't driven one, I've heard they have massive torque steer. Give the Galant a close look, Mitsubishi has many things going for it. Their warranty can't be beat, and they're also offering 0% financing on the Galant for the time being. Mitsubishi reliability has been spotty at times, but their warranty offsets that. A friend of mine bought a 2005 Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart a year ago. It has given him zero problems. Plus, if you're open to the idea, test drive the Ford Fusion as well, it rated well in a recent comparison test in Motor Trend.

Maxima's have always had a marvelous engine. As much as I love Hondas, I do not think the Accord engine can quite match up to the Maxima's VQ. I wouldn't even consider a Galant.

Depends what you want to do, rod rodding it the Maxima 3.5 for reliability the Accord hands down. I'm not crazy about the Galant personally.

The Accord is the best family sedan on the market. Period. Car & Driver, Edmunds, etc. agree. I've had two of them -- both excellent vehicles which averaged about 30mpg. The Maxima is okay but it's pricier, and won't hold its value quite as well.
Avoid Mitsubishis like the plague -- they are poorly designed, have bad resale value, and dealer satisfaction is among the worst of all manufacturers.

I don't know about the new once, but the 90's once, the maxima lasts longer, I might be wrong but I think that nissan is making worse cars now then it did before.

Accords have and hold their resale value much better than Mitsu or Nissan. Build quality is higher and engines have been known to run almost trouble free for 300,000+ miles.
None of the above is a dog, though.

Not a great choice, but of the 3 you have got, go for the accord.
