what would be a good colour to dye a horse?

I was thinking fluorescent orange to keep it safe in hunting season.

and can it just be painted on or would I need to soak it in the bathtub over night

will it even fit in the tub, and if it does will it leave a ring

The only horses I've seen dyed were white or mostly white and they just used a semi permenant color (blue green usually) for costume classes. I dont think color will show on a dark horse and a white one doesn't look like a deer. There are always stories of drunk hunters thinking they're shooting orange deer! I don't think permanent color or bleaching would be any good because they sting you'd have a very angry horse. Have fun

Why don't you drape a brightly colored cloth under neath the sadle while you ride the horse. You should not dye their coat. Some animals, like humans, have sentive skin and are sensitive to dyes. And you can't ask a horse if he hurts. So I would advise you not to dye your horse.

dye, not paint. A horse needs to be able to sweat. OH, and orange like carrot top would be funny.

don't die him that is poision. I live in a area where there is alot of hunting so i bye reflectors in the hunting stores that you can velcro to your jacket. Instead i put them on my horses halters and turn them out. Make sure the top is leather so they don't get hurt

leave the horse alone. You'd be doing him more harm than good if you dye his coat. That stuff is poison, and it would get into his system and make him sick. don't do it.
