ok yesterday night i picked up my guitar out of my case and my washer on the back fell off ( i have an ovation roundback) and the thing i plug into fell inside the guitar... one of my friends said to get it out of the guitar and back in its place i have to take off all my string and stick my hand in there...the way ive been taught to change my strings one at a time cause it warps the neck if you take em all off at once because then all the tention will be gone from the neck...i don't know what to do...please help...i'm worried i ruined my gutiar..it was really really expensive.. last night it was horrible cause i thought mabye i'd try and use my electric and make it sound like its an acoustic...so i did..when i started to sing my mike(micriphone) wasn't grounded... i nearly electricuted myself..i flet really sick after the shock so i ended up just playing my acoustic unplugged and someone else singing...did i ruin my acoustic????

hi ive had an ovation 12 string,, some stole it on my b-day, that was a long time ago and im over it :) hope its bein played some where,,, im one of those geeks that can fix anything and i have had that guitar apart,,, so here we go,,,, take the strings off,( it will not hurt it at all, how do you change the battery?,, who ever told you that is silly, as a matter of fact if your going to store a guitar for months or longer you should relax the strings to loose) back to it,,, did you find the nut that holds the jack to the body? strings are off right,, look insde you'll see the wire with the jack attached to the end,, stick you hand in the body pick up the jack and push the threaded end through the end hole and while still holding the jack from the inside put the washer on and tighten the nut secure by hand then twist it maybe a quarter turn with a wrench, socket, pliers etc,,,,, you can plug it in an tap on the bridge or body and you should hear something, thud, thud :) string it back up and cut loose and enjoy :):):)

I wouldn't worry about taking the all the strings off for a short period of time, it won't warp instantly. If you leave the strings off for some time it will surely warp. I have shocked myself on a mike before, it sucks b/c getting shocked in the mouth sucks!! And the thing you plug into would be a jack...hope I helped

Take it into the nearest guitar shop. I would think they could fix it for you.
