My son also gave up the bottle early. I gave him a sippy at 4 monthe old by 6 months he wanted nothing to do with his bottle. He never even learnd to hold a bottle went stright to the sippy. You can put his/her formula in the I cup. That's what we did and he is a perfectly healthy eater and a happy little boy. It's nice when they bottle break that early. Don't have to worry about not being able to get it away from them and having a 3 y/o with a bottle.

My son never took a bottle. He started using a sippy cup from the age of 3 months for water. There is a sippy cup called a Nuby, it has a soft spout and might make it easier for your baby to drink from it. Try that, and then transition to a regular sippy cup around 10 months.

This is just my opinion, but if he/she won't take a bottle, give him/her a sippy cup with formula or breast milk in it. Don't stop giving formula/breastmilk yet. My 6 month old is very interested in a sippy cup also. She likes it because she can chew on it and ease the pain in her gums from teething. Maybe yours likes it for the same reason. One good thing... you won't have a problem breaking the bottle habit.

There's nothing wrong with giving a five-month-old a cup. If he or she is not interested in the bottle, I doubt that you're going to change the baby's mind about it. They make sippy cups with smaller spouts for little mouths. I especially like Gerber. They make one called the Sip & Smile with a tipped top so the baby doesn't have to tip back so far to drink it when sitting up.

My son is 5 months and I nurse him. When he started baby food I got him a Nuby cup to drink some water with his food. Neither of my kids ever took a bottle. I don't think there is anything wrong no giving your kids a bottle. My first son was 10 weeks old when he first had a cup ( because I had surgery and was unable to nurse ) He refused to take a bottle. So whatever works best for the baby - just make sure that the liquid doesn't come out to fast.

I truly have an 18 month previous that continues to be on the bottle. She in basic terms makes use of it at nap & bedtime however. and that i'm interior the perspective of weining her off of it thoroughly. I had issues getting my daughter to initially take to a sippy cup too. merely shop attempting... possibly enable him %. out a cup on the shop. that ought to get him excited approximately it. My mothers and dads are people who have been given my daughter to take a sippy cup. My mom had me deliver my daughter over with in basic terms a cup, no bottles. She used the concept that when she's thirsty she'll take it. and he or she did. She suggested it took a pair of tries, and a pair cries for her bottle and a tantrum or 2, yet my mom endured. as quickly as she have been given homestead I did an identical and (nonetheless a tantrum or 2, yet..) it worked. Bedtimes are yet another tale however... nonetheless engaged on that. I truly have 2 greater recommendations... First attempt making use of the sippy cups that have the versatile rubber nipples/tops. Nibby sells some at walmart. they are greater comparable to bottles than the hard plastic ones and would make the transaction smoother. and 2nd. .. additionally at walmart, they sell nipples for bottles, that duplicate ingesting from a sippy cup. it ought to help to apply those for a speedy at an identical time as.

The sooner they give up the bottle the better. I think by the time any baby is 1 year or even a little over, the bottle should stop (as well as the pacifier). It can affect their teeth in the long run.

Does your son still nurse? If not I think he still needs his bottle. It would be hard for him to get all the milk he needs from a sippy cup.
