Flirting is harmless fun if the flirting does not go to far. It becomes harmful when this flirting is always with one particular person. Those are often called emotional affairs. I do have two questions that you need to ask yourself. What has led you to be chatting/flirting in the chat room to begin with? and Why are you feeling guilty about your actions enough to ask the opinion of complete strangers hoping to justify it? I think you already know the answer to your question, you just refuse to come to terms with it because of how this "flirting" makes you feel. Honey, those flirting "chats" are not real, but your spouse is. Go flirt with him/her.

No. Flirting on-line can lead to serious trouble. Even if you didn't cheat physically, you'd still be likely to become emotionally attached to someone over the net. An emotional affair is still an affair and in fact more hurtful than empty sex. If you are unhappy with your marriage, fix it or move on. Like the above poster said, if you wouldn't do it in front of your spouse then obviously it is unacceptable.

is flirting in a chat room acceptable? what are you hoping to accomplish? I think you know where this may lead. think about it.
In my opinion, You shouldn't even be in a chat room talking , you should be talking to your spouse, giving him/her your attention... you should be flirting with your spouse.
Its very easy to get carried away on here, it starts out as just having fun and the next thing you know your saying and doing things even giving out your phone #. That is bad bad bad if your married. think about it.

Absolutely not. To know if saying or doing something is acceptable in a marriage for either spouse to do, all you have to do is imagine your spouse listening, knowing, or seeing what you are doing - and if that passes the sniff test, then it is okay.

I personally dont see any problem with it, other than the fact your wife may want to tear your testicale off with her teeth. Of course it's an issue, and I believe you knew that when you asked the question.

No. Chat rooms are the cruising bars of yesteryear. They are no different than Las Vegas - what happens here stays here.

not everyone's marriage is the same. you have to talk it over with your partner. basically, if you ever feel that you can't or don't want to tell your spouse something then get out of it b/c then you are treading in dangerous waters. communication is everything.
