I want to be sure everything goes good before I start buying things but I'm so excited I want to start shopping now and I am nearly a month pregnant.
You think too soon?

I've heard the first three months are the real danger zone. But you're not guarenteed anything until the baby comes out, and that's a little late to do your shopping. I'd start after 3 months probably.

Most doctors will tell you (especially with your first) to wait until you get passed your first trimester (12 weeks) to tell everyone and buy things. However , if b4 then you have an ultra sound and est. that the pregnancy is viable and you find a healthy heart beat your chances of miscarriage drop by like 80%. I have 3 and I refused to have anything in the house until I was between 17-20 weeks and had the ultrasound to determine that everything really was going fine. I guess I was afraid if something was wrong I'd be sitting here with a house full of baby stuff I now had to do something with and that thought was unbearable.

That is WAY too soon. That's crazy. You have 10 months.. there is no reason to start buying now. Babies don't need THAT much stuff!! Three months is when they say the risk of miscarriage is a lot lower, but you aren't even going to know if it's a boy or a girl until at least five months! So why would you buy stuff already? Sorry, but that's a little OVERBOARD to me.. you remind me of my friend who was waddling (the pregnant walk) when she was TWO months pregnant..

First of all, don't worry about miscarriage as long as you are taking good care of yourself. Unless you've had miscarriages in the past that is. Check with your doctor to make sure that everything is going according to "plan". I would wait a little bit to buy your baby things. You have plenty of time. Learn more about being pregnant and all the miracles of pregnancy first. That should take up some spare time... then start picking up your baby stuff..Congratulations!

It is a little to soon. The chance of a miscarriage goes down after 12 weeks which is 3 months. after 3 months you are save to buy anything you want. it is rare to miscarriage a baby after that.

You're never going to be completely out of the woods in regards to a miscarriage, but the time when you can let your guard down.. and feel pretty confident that it's not going to happen is 14 weeks. There is a significantly increased chance of a miscarriage in the first trimester, and it decreases to a very small percentage for the rest of the pregnancy.

Way too early for you too start buying things, wait until you are about 7mths to start, as you can have a miscarriage at any time there is no set time. Dont be so paranoid about miscarriages as this is another stress that you are adding to your present situation. You will be fine, there is heaps of time before you need to start buying things, why not wait until you have it..

There's never a total guarantee, but, around 3-4 months you will start feeling pretty confident that there will be no miscarriage. (What Im saying is, no one needs to answer you because you will know yourself when its time) Everyone goes through that feeling in early pregnancy, try to relax and enjoy this time.

I was paranoid about the same thing. I didn't start buying things until I was 27 weeks. Usually at that point if you go into early labor the baby will have atleast a 20% chance of survival.
