you about nailed it....next year you can be drafted and vote. I'm 35, so of legal grinking age, but if I were 18 (start at 17) I would get a group going to either make the draft 21 or lower the drinking age to 18. I am offend for you (next year) that you are responsible enough to go to war but not have a beer.

I'm sorry my Friend, you but you have the same freedoms you had a year ago, and you have to be 18 to give blood, now any other freedoms you receive will be based on your parent discretion

Most importantly, what freedoms do your parents allow you to have? In some states, you're able to move out on your own. The 'freedom' you have is based also on what your parents let you do, while you're living with them. The greatest insult you can give to a parent is to flaunt a freedom they don't approve of while you're still a dependant.

You have the freedom to choose what kind of a person you will be. My advice, quit worrying about your "freedoms" and start looking at colleges.

In South Carolina you can have consentual sex and in most countries in Europe you can drink. But seriously, you can do whatever the hell you want as long as you don't get caught. Other than that, you just have to start preparing for college.
