No, not at all as can be observed from his blatantly biased, irrational and insensible comments on issues affecting world peace! For instance, where was the need for USA to object to and water down a simple statement put forward by China concerning the carnage of UN observers in Lebanon by Israel! America should be ashamed of making a mockery of democracy and a democratic organisation like the UN!

Who cares - John Bolton needs to be brash and bold and confrontational - the UN is a corrupt, worthless piece of bureaucracy - it is so bloated with money skimming hypocritical crooks, that you need someone there to blow through all the crap and BS being tossed around by so many criminal regimes. I don't know why we bother with that worthless waste of time... we finance a vast majority of its activities and they do nothing, stand in the way of doing anything meaningful to criminal regimes like Iran, North Korea, China, and Cuba - steal money from the coffers and laugh at the US. John Bolton is a great person to have there, david c, as only a liberal like you would be drugged up enough to believe that the organization will ever accomplish anything useful. Do you really know and understand how much money is wasted, stolen and misused by the UN - it belongs on the trash pile of history david c, and you need a real diaper change if you believe that organization has anything useful to offer in the arena of world diplomacy. It is a model of inefficiency, corruption and emptiness, but liberals love it because they think that criminal governments might be held accountable by a slap on the wrist or a wink from the UN...

david c - doing a lot before naptime today... going to need some extra animal crackers before going sleepies, aren't you?

Considering the gross ineptitude and "culture of corruption" that is the UN, I think an effective ambassador has to be brash, confrontational, and tempered. He is there to push the American agenda, after all. This he has to do amidst a devil's coven of petty tyrants, dictators, and America hating religious fanatics. All in all, he's doing a pretty good job.

I also liked the way he handled Kerry in the Senate the other day. nice of Kerry to show up when the proceedings were almost over to berate the Ambassador.

Are you kidding? Bolton? He is part of the problem. He is his own problem in that what he wants to accomplish is being rendered impossible by the style in which he wants to accomplish it.
