I was watering the garden last night when I was bitten by a small bug that left a small single hole in my foot. I later found that my foot has swollen badley and seems to reduce when in bed but increase when walking around, this has been four days now and the swelling does not seem to go. any similar experiences out there in the UK>

squashed 7 in my house last night, midge, horsefly, cleg, mosquito, there are many names for the blighters.
they are more active around dusk/dark and are attracted to house lights, body odours and perfumes.
They are approx 2 cm long and mottled brown in colour very similar to a small daddy long legs/crane fly, they look awesome stuck to rolled up newspaper.
Antiseptic cream applied regularly, sometimes if there is a great deal of swelling antihistamine creams can be applied, though on occasion a doctors visit can be required.
As these little blighters live around stagnant water when they bite they can transfer all manner of water bourne infections to you.
