Suggestion for Project Topic?

I'm a final year Bachelor of Electronics and Telecom Engineering student.. As part of our curriculam we are needed to make a project related to our syllabus over the period of a year..
I wanted to know whether ny1 could suggest me a project or mayb a few useful links ( alongwith complete circuit diagrams, block diagrams etc.)
A few the prblems faced are..
i) There ain't no qualified/helpful faculty members to help us at college;
ii) Budget is a constraint (Rs. 10000).

so am asking for ones with designed circuit diagrams..

Why dont you go simple? Im thinking cabins, old-fashioned, backwoods.
