Some children at a young age have undeveloped stomachs and being propped up as you are in a car seat or bouncy seat relieves pressure on the stomach and can actually reduce spitting up. So there is nothing harmful sleeping in their little seats.

Being a new mommy is the hardest thing....but if you can find any little tricks that will work to get your little one to sleep, by all means use them!! I know of a couple of my friends that let their babies sleep in their carseats next to their bed, eventually graduating them to a crib when they were ready. Actually, my son spent a lot of his nap time in his bouncer seat, strapped in with the vibration on...he did that for the first 4 months or so...then started sleeping in his crib. Hope it helps, and good luck! Enjoy your little precious one!!

I remember when the only way to get my (oldest) daughter to sleep was to go for a car ride. Eventually we could just put her in her carseat and she'd be out. I always put her in the crib as soon as she fell asleep though.. that seat can't be comfy for too long!

It is OK for your little one to sleep in the car seat, but if you want to try something new, invest in a pillow called a "cuddle u". They sell them at Wal-Mart. It is on the same lines as a boppy pillow, but has a strap to hold baby in for safety. My daughter (6 months) sleeps in on all the time. It gives them a snugly feeling like they are being held. Good luck.

i dont know of anyone who has a child that had a problem, such as getting hurt, from sleeping in a carseat, and doctors say it is perfectly fine, and especially for a 3 month old, it is perfectly fine for him to sleep in a carseat

this question makes me smile. single mom of a 15 month old here and i remember when i would have to drive my daughter around at 11pm to get her to sleep. its what worked for her. so heck yeh its good. as long as you are both getting the rest you need and the baby is safe in her seat.

yes. i have a favorite sleeping position. if a child sleeps better in a car seat, they feel better in that position. my grandaughter slept better in the carseat, so my daughter let her sleep in it in her crib. worked well. she asked me if i thought it was ok, i did. trust yourself mom. you know your child best, and if it does not seem traditional, oh well.

My youngest son was had croup when he was first born and the only way we could get him to stay sleeping was to keep him in an infant seat. Then he wouldn't get gas pains so bad

I asked my pediatrician this question, because my daughter wouldn't sleep in her crib. She said it's fine.
Happy napping!
