I'd say home business. Don't try any of the ads about how to "make money in your spare time"; most of them are scams, and it's nearly impossible to tell which are the few legitimate ones. Instead, make your own job. You can do childcare (check the laws in your country--or state in the US) in your home. If you live near a university, you may be able to get typing jobs (you'd be amazed at how many students *still* can't type well!!). If you enjoy cooking or baking, you can sell products to friends (again, check the law). A lot of women do housecleaning with baby in tow. In this case, get a baby sling so that you can wear baby while you work; gardening could also work out for you the same way. If you sew, you can do clothing repairs and alterations (pays better than sewing from scratch). You'd be amazed, too, how many women deliver newspapers! You can do it with baby in her/his car seat in the early hours while baby is still likely to be sleeping. If you have a particular field of study you like, you could tutor students in your home.
The nice thing about making your own job is that you can choose which hours to work, and how many jobs to accept at different times/seasons.

If you're truly broke, you can get help from the state. If you have college experience it's easier to get a job. So first you can start by enrolling in college if you need to. Fill out a FAFSA and you will get cash back for going to college. Also the Social Service agency nearest you will pay for the daycare completely if you are going to college but not working. If you want to work too (or already have college), then you can just pay a small fee like $15 a week for daycare.
This is just what I've done in the past. I've got a year of college under my belt finally. I worked full-time while attending college, but you should be able to get by on a part-time job if you are living by yourself (just you and your baby). So I would worry about school first because it is going to pay for itself AND pay you for going. After a few weeks of school, it's easier to get a job anyway because you have your daycare taken care of and you have a schedule going. The social service agency won't pay for daycare for job hunting so that's the only solution I've found..
If none of those sound good, start babysitting out of your home. Get state certified (only costs $35 so you can easily do that the first week you get some kids to watch) and you can get paid by the state (vendor care) to watch kids for moms that can't afford daycare (the situation you're in). Hope those help.
Good luck.

Go to someplace like Social Services. I've never used them, but I've heard about a lot of programs they have. They may be able to help with the cost of child care, and also maybe help you in finding a job.

In most states the social Service office can help by paying most if not all of the bill if you have the right income requirements.

I am sorry but you really should of thought about this before having your baby.
Off the top of my head, I don't think there is much you can do. Maybe there is some sort of mother/baby centre near you who could you help you out?
