First source (www.elmers.com):
As long as the glue remains inside the bottle away from air it will remain fluid. Glue hardens when there is a loss of water from the formula. Exposure to the atmosphere will cause the water to evaporate and make the glue harden. That's why it is important to keep the cap on the glue bottle closed to prevent hardening or drying out.

Second source (www.asktaco.com): In the bottle, there's little air. What makes the glue move is the water in the glue. In the bottle, there's no air, so the water doesn't evaporate. When it leaves the bottle, or the bottle is left open, the water evaporates or dries and sticks things together. We say it dries because it loses the moisture by evaporation.

because in the pot its a completely solid material, and it doesn't have air particles for the glue to go inside to adhere, but other materials do, but then again like that other person said you might be using wood glue, I'm sure super glue, or anything like that would work on your pot, teehee

The pot is airtight and doesn't give the glue a chance to dry.
