Roller skating is such a fun, safe activity, yet it is dying a slow, painful death.

It's not just the rinks that are dying, it's the whole sport. It is safe, fun, and a great form of exercise!

I agree! I went to my folks house in NM and the local skating ring is still open. Me and my brother (35 & 31 yrs old) took all the kids and had a blast but I swear neither of us had been in 10 yrs or more!

It's a gay sport. It's completely pointless. It's not fun, it's too safe, and most people who need to excersize can't find skates that fit them and most people that are in great shape would chose not to roller skate because it is a waste of their time.

Roller Blades have taken over for skates, and I don't know exactly how safe it is.
