i agree that she must have some sort of mental disorder to drown her five children, and she needs help. But I also think that she should be punished somewhat for her actions. I think a part of her know what she was doing, (she waited for her husband to leave) and she should therefore by punished for her actions.

incorrect. She knew precisely what she exchange into doing. She exchange into no longer insane. She's merely making use of that as an excuse for a lesser sentence. She admitted waiting till no person exchange into homestead to drown her young infants because of the fact she knew if somebody exchange into there, that they had stop her. A psychotic looney would not think of rationally like that. She planned it. It exchange into intentional. She admits it. it quite is sufficient evidence for the dying penalty. She's a murderer and could be hanged on the front backyard of the courthouse on a similar time as human beings spit at her. no longer be enable off the hook because of the fact she and her criminal expert attempt to cleverly use the insanity card.

I think more people should be held responsible for the children's death. She had been in a mental hospital a few weeks prior to killing the children. All family members and dr's. knew she was hearing voices. They increased her medication and sent her home. She was taking double the dose of medication when she as sent home.
I would not leave a child alone with a person who I knew was mentally unstable. She believed that she was saving her children, according to the voices she was hearing

She should have been put to death, if it was a father that killed 3 of his children he would have died in Texas, She was found guilty in the first trial that should have been good enough. I guess the big hard state of Texas has grown soft.

I think it's sad. She killed her children and basically got away with it. Do I think she should have gotten the death penalty, no.
But she will be "cured" and set free. I hope she doesn't have any more children.

Like others have said, if it was the father, he'd be toast.
