Fun read.
Rumor has it that one of the passages inspired the name of rock band "Steely Dan." And yes...the passage was about a dildo.
Movie version was a let down.

It's quite the trip to read, which of course was the point. Immpossible to really pin down what the book was trying to say, which again was the point--in the drug-haze that Burroughs was in, life is fragmented, unreal, imaginary even. Curious place to visit, I sure as hell wouldn't want to live there.

I hated it. It was like throwing up and then eating it again.
I think his work is a rude gesture to the world. I respect his work, I think it has a place in the world, I admire his strength of self, but I hate the work. It's repugnant and gratuitous.
