Hey, I live in Boynton Beach, FL -- right outside West Palm Beach where Hurricane Wilma hit last year. It wasn't too bad, just a lot of rain and winds for about 3 hours. Then there is the mess afterwards. If you stay in a nice hotel, they should have back up generators that will come on after the storm -- so you won't be without electricity. We were without power for 4 days, and it wasn't all that bad. We just took quick showers to conserve the water in the hot water tank. I would say go for it, you can't live your life around the weather. Do you worry that it's gonna snow so bad on Christmas that you might not be able to get out of the house to see your family? Nah. So, don't worry too much about a hurricane.

That is during hurricane season. Hurricane season lasts from June 1st - November 30th. I've lived in Florida all my life and it seems that the hurricanes are most active towards the end of the season. There are so many ways to be safe though. I wouldn't worry about it. If there is a hurricane, you will have the help you need. Don't stress about it and enjoy your trip!

I've lived in South Florida since the sixties and have seen very few hurricanes hit us. Most of the time they are near misses with some heavy rains...usual weather for South Fl at this time of year. Our chance of hurricanes hitting us is not really any greater than the West Coast of Florida or even up the coast into the Carolinas.

Yes it's the hurricane season and no you can't predict when and where the will hit. You can after they have begun to form but that could happen the day you leave and by the time you get there BAM hurricane. Why not wait till Dec or after hurricane season is over the end of Nov.

It's been a pretty calm season so far *knock on wood*. I live in Boca Raton, and have lived in or around Broward County for 3 years now. If you want to look at it like that, then really you should never get out of bed, because simply getting out of bed is a risk. I think you should come to Miami and enjoy a vacation. If there IS a hurricane, there are plenty of resources for travelers, and most hotels are newer and built to very strict codes. You might want to consult with your airline, if you are flying, and find out if they offer a provision for hurricanes to allow you to leave when a hurricane is eminent.

Only Mother Nature can answer that one. Hurricane season is June 1 - November 1. Any thing is possible. You never know around here. Just keep watching your weather station around the time of your trip. Maybe Yes, Maybe No! Hard telling, Not knowing. Good Luck.

Hurricanes are totally random & weather reports give plenty of warning. Tourists have the option of getting on a plane if one threatens. If you're that scared you should never visit any coastal or Caribbean Resort. There's always Utah.
