A urine pregnancy test measures hCG, or Human Chorionic Gonadotropic hormone. This hormone is detectable only during pregnancy. An infection typically should not change your results, although it is possible to have a false negative or false positive result if your hCG level is not high enough to detect with the test you are using.

Do the test with your first morning urine. Follow the directions exactly. If in doubt go to your doctor or health department to request a blood test. The serum (blood) pregnancy test checks progesterone levels in the blood and can be detected as early as one day after conception.

No. A dirty urine sample would not affect the accuracy of a pregnancy test , the test is only registering the pregnancy hormone hpg. An infection would not dilute or remove this hormone.

It's important to be careful with kidney or urinary tract infections while pregnant. And no, it won't cause a false positive. Nothing really can, except possible ovulation. If you are concerned contact the 800 number on the package the test came in. Good Luck and congratulations..

no it can't change the preg test at all. because its testing ur urine for a hormone which is there when your pregnant whether u have a kidney infection or not. the hormone will still be in ur system

They may not report it to your work because all information between you and your doctor remains confidential. Secondly, as you say, it was not an injury on duty. If they are checking for infections - like doing a MC+S - they will not be testing for drugs. It will only show if they specifically test for THC. And should they somehow by some bizarre means test you for THC and it comes out positive, what does it matter? You know what you did and your doctor may not tell without your permission. Hope that puts your mind at ease. :)

No the test measures hormones and an infection won't change whether or not those hormones are present.
