It sounds like desperation to me. Or maybe they can't justify spending billions on the military while the people who serve them breakfast are living under the poverty level.

Republicans are cranking up their hate machine for the election and will be waving the flag (despite the fact Bush has been using it as toilet paper). We will also see some bones being toss at various groups (Stem cell veto to the Bible Fascists) and minimum wage increase to the poor. They are scared, but still believe they can fool us one more time. Prove them wrong in November.
