Hummer for a man, or a top of the line Harley. For a woman, anything that sparkles, square cut emeralds come to mind. Or an ebony dining room table.

For the speed fanatic, Fly to vegas and take him to the Richard Petty Driving Experience. Its pretty fun and will get the speeding out of his system for about a day!
Also, anything requiring a passport is pretty cool. or if you want to be out of the norm then a surprise is always good and fun.
