Why do they play with NO leadership or heart. The 1994/ 2002 teams showed spark, but 2006 was listless and just sad to watch. WHY and what can we expect in 2010 with all new members

I agree with Matt S. Hispanics are the biggest minority in the U.S. and how many of them do you see on the U.S. national team. Hispanics have grown up with soccer in their blood and have a great passion for this game which is what usually separates the top teams from the rest, i.e. who wants it more. However, since a lot of them are in the lower middle class they did not have the priviledge to go to all these fancy soccer clinics, etc which is where the U.S federation gets all their players. If they really want to grow US soccer, they need to invest time and money and go out and look for kids playing in city leagues and on the corner lots. Two of the greatest players of the game came from poverty and slums...Pele and Maradona.

a new coach who knows the mentality of American and the love, passion, knowledge, knack and tactics of football and "will" to win of the players. I have no doubt that given every chances, the US team will go a lot further in 4 years time. They'll be a force to be reckoned within a very short time. Just wait & see.

We just have to be patient. I think our next generation, who will grow up playing football soccer will be much better. Everybody forgets that takes time. Look at some countries in Europe, like Holland, Portugal, etc, how long took them to become competitive. And some. like England, never learn how to play winning football.

I also agree with matt. alot of hispanics and other inter. players are here in america. USA should take advantage of it. Without them usa would be a crappy white team. mostly all of the usa players are international descents like claudio reyna, carlos bocanegra, freddy adu, brian ching, oguchi onyewu and many more. usa should get alot of hispanic and inter players so they can be on top of the game its really simple, us association is just making it difficult

.The US needs to cheat and drug their soccer players like they do with their other athletes. With out cheating and drugs the US has no chance in winning in any sport. Very sad...very sad.
