A lot of great music has crappy lyrics but it takes extraordinary lyrics to make ordinary music great.

ok well i think lyrics are important. but i would definatley go for the music with crappy lyrics. cuz the music is usually the thing that gets my attention for a band. no doubt about it the band has to have good music. and if the music sucked then the lyrics wouldn't matter the band just sux. so definately good music and crappy lyrics for me!!! the sound makes everything! the lyrics just help alot!! but music is everything!!!!! (to me music is everything)

I'd go with the good music simply because waaay back when, there were some really good rock instrumentals recorded that I just love. Just a couple examples: Walk Don't Run 64 by the Ventures and Sleepwalk by Santo & Johnny

I would prefer the good lyrics. You can always remember the lyrics in you mind and even share them with a friend the same way you might read poetry.

Music! You can drown out the lyrics but you can't drown out the music!
