This is some info I found, thought it would be helpful:
Shop-bought mayonnaise is generally made from pasteurised egg and therefore should be safe for pregnant women to eat, but make sure you follow the storage instructions on the jar.
Pregnant women are advised to avoid home-made mayonnaise because it can contain raw unpasteurised egg and so there's a potential risk of salmonella. Occasionally you might see fresh mayonnaise in shops. It will be kept in the chilled section and have a 'Use by' date. Unless you can check that it doesn't contain raw egg, it would be best to avoid this during pregnancy.
(BTY I ate mayo while pregnant, no problems.)

there shouldn't be a problem with mayo.....
steer clear of soft cheeses and anything that is not pastuerized, like fresh ciders, etc.
also, big fish are a no-no, like tuna, swordfish, etc. b/c they have higher levels of mercury than than the little fish.
i would read "what to expect when you're expecting". there is a whole section of the that book that talks about proper nutrition for pregnant women!
take care!
some people are talking about the mayo containing raw egg.....if you are talking about eating homemade mayo, then i wouldn't. but, if you're buying mayo at the store, jsut be sure to check the label. it should say that it's been pasteurized. even if it doesn't say pastuerized that's o.k.
my dr told me that they HAVE to say "un pasteurized" on the label, so if it doesn't say anything and it's from a grocery store, then it's o.k.

As long as it is made with pasteurised eggs there is no problem, mayonnaise you buy in the shops is normally made like this. I don't think it makes any difference anyway as, I followed their guidelines of what not to eat with my first child, although I would not of ate liver, pates and soft cheese as advised, I ate mayonnaise, eggs, pavolvas etc with my other 3 pregancies and it never did me or my unborn child any harm

Don't eat home-made mayonnaise as it has raw eggs in it. Mayonnaise from the jar found in supermarkets is fine.

You can eat mayo from jar because it is pasteurized. Just don't eat homemade mayo because it's made with raw eggs.

You can eat mayonnaise packaged in jars (made with powdered egg) but they advise you not to eat fresh mayonnaise as it is made with raw eggs.
