Why do some people suffer from car sickness?

My girlfriend does, and I was just wandering whether there was anything she could do. Any help would be appreciated :)

I do too! It sucks. But it might be less of a problem if she would get something in her stomach before she gets in the car. I don't get car sick driving..Never but a passenger, yes...If she's feeling sick have her drive. Tell her to never read something while the car is going..always look outside..ahead.Good luck..
