Majority of Indians deny they speak Hindi no wonder yiu cant find hindi script website on google..Hindi is the second most spoken language in the world the non Indians are trying to lean hindi http://www.gopetition.com/online/9193.html which will help west to understand Indians better..The way an english speaking Indian portrays India will be different than the non english speaking Indian..But i think Indians should help themselves to make their language popular too like the chinese Russian who are proud to speak their language UK been surrounded by non english speakers and for them english is alien language like italians, Spanish German because they love their language as well as keep up with the world.
So Indians are already walking along with the western but not offering anything to western countries their culture their heritage values..And one of the most oldest language which is Hindi a part of Indo-european language Sanskrit.

One thing it wrong to say that Indians are ashamed of their own languauge. I speak Hindi and I am proud of speaking Hindi. I speak Hindi and even my local dialect whenever I can. However at the same time Indians are not admant to speak Hindi at the cost of communication failure. If talk about Italians, Russians, German - love of language is not only reason that make them speak only that language but I think it is more to do with negative nationality feeling and thinking that they are superior and others are not which make them stick to that language. Whereas as Indians we know that very large and diversity is but natural as we have seen diversity in our country much more than any one else. So very are accomodating and instead of being admant that other should understand our language to speak to us we learn their language and make them understand us. This also shows our dextrity of learning new things.

So net to net it is not ashamed but our diverse culture and understanding which make us learn different language and convese accordingly.

Though I do not deny that there is always a small group of people who feels by speaking english or something they can join elite group but then you will see that these are those people who are eager to join these elite group without having stuff to do that and therefore try to take help of language.

Bcoz Hindi is Indian National Language. N very easy to speak . I think there should be no burden to anyone. If anyone feel comfortable in speaking in his/her own language, than there is nothing wrong . But if any official work comes in way N without Hindi it is not running smoothly than it should be use must. As being a National Language ,almost in every Indian state it is spoken, written N taught. But it should not be a center point of fighting. Bcoz every language is a part of Knowledge N teaches us the lesson of Love. So we should have intentions, behave N should be practical like a Literate person with self respect, not like Illiterates . Some political parties / personalities use this issue for their own gain/ purpose. So they use this like an arm . N innocent people become pray of their dirty game. So their is need of public awareness N only we people can do that. take care Thank You..

Hi,

It could be that the part of world you live in, there are not many Hindi speaking Indians. India has more than 850 dialects or commonly spoken languages, and every speaker shows loyalty to one of these. Hindi as such is a language common only in four or five northern states out of a total above 25.

Amongst themselves, most Hindi speaking people prefer talking in Hindi. But, it is certainly not in Indian culture to thurst your own culture or language or any such social characteristics on someone else unless they are themselves interested in knowing more.

As far as google search is concerned it does not have an option to search Hindi script websites, but the biggest contradiction to your statement is the fact that Google itself is available in Hindi. Also, just for your information there are hundreds of websites actually found in Hindi; and a couple of them actually provide translation also. In fact, all official websites of Government of India almost always have a Hindi version on the net too.

Try www.webduniya.com or www.jagran.com or try www.indianrail.gov.in and select hindi version.

It is unbelievable that Indians picked up the language of their conqueror as national language, and show it off all over the world.
