Which would you choose? You are driving down the road in your car on a wild, stormy night, when you pass by a bus stop and you see three people waiting for the bus:
1. An old lady who looks as if she is about to die.
2. An old friend who once saved your life.
3. The perfect partner you have been dreaming about.
Which one would you choose to offer a ride to, knowing that there could only be one passenger in your car?
Think before you continue reading.
This is a moral/ethical dilemma that was once actually used as part of a job application. You could pick up the old lady, because she is going to die, and thus you should save her first. Or you could take the old friend because he once saved your life, and this would be the perfect chance to
pay him back. However, you may never be able to find your perfect mate again.

Lend your car to your friend so he can drive the old lady to the hospital, and wait for the bus with your perfect partner.

None... The three people at the bus stop would be but a blur under those conditions... I probably would be more interested in driving conditions because of the very bad weather... most of my thought would be on that... These three people are already out in the elements and more than likely soaked... soon a bus would arrive and pick them up so they could continue their personal chosen journey... In the end the old lady would eventually die... You would see your friend soon under more pleasant conditions... and lastly the ideal mate will make someone else perfectly happy... and you of course would never really know or realize what moment in time slipped by that night...

I would let the old lady sit in my car until the bus came, then your friend, who doesn't expect to be thanked for saving your life could go on the bus with her and your ideal partner could be your passenger. You cannot let the chance of a lifetime pass you by.

Well, lets look at the big picture. If the old friend is truly a friend then they would be willing to sit a little longer while you take the old woman to the hospital. As far as the perfect partner......doesnt exhist. I'd take the lady to the hospital, come back for my friend, and leave the perfect mate in fantasy land.

I would let #2 take the wheel of the car and take the old lady to the hospital while I get out and brave the storm with my perfect partner while we learn about eachothers character and maybe seize the opportunity to have him hold me during the stormy night:) Sounds like fun. Of course I'd have an umbrella in the trunk so I would take it out and we could huddle beneath it to keep dry:)

The old friend is good at saving lives, so let him drive your car with the old lady to help her.
Then get on the bus and share a seat with the "perfect partner".

I`ll pick up my old friend. There is no way of knowing that the old lady will die and there is no way of knowing that "the perfect partner" is the one.

How about if I just wave and keep going? That probably makes me mean doesn't it? Hmmmm.... well, then I guess I'd just have to pull over and wait at the bus stop with them.
