This morning on the way to work I was listenting to the local radio station...now take for granted that this is one of those crappy top 40 stations that only plays 10 songs and is the driving force behind getting an iPod or satellite radio, but it only takes me 5 minutes to get to work...But Anyway..............

They bleeped the word "God" in Panic! At The Disco's "I write sins not tragedies"...as in "Haven't you people ever heard of closing the ***damned door" !?!?!?!

Ok, I think that's a little rediculous, I know it was 7:50 AM, but that is the most retarted thing I have ever heard...especially since that one line is practically the whole song and it's only HALF of the word.

I love Pearl Jam as much as the next person, but I've yet to hear a radio station bleep "harmles little F*ck" from Jeremy?

What's up with this, is the FCC on crack? I don't live in the Bible Belt and I don't consider my area to be very conservitive...It's just so bizare...someone explain PLEASE!

Wow I can't explain that. Is Bush wrecking everything, wait it's probably Cheney's wife.

Because someone probably got oversensitive and complained about it...

Alternatively, that's just the radio edit they were supplied with by the record company and they aren't actively bleeping it. Kerrang radio are my current heroes... after finding that they'd been sent a censored version (another panic one - lying is the most fun...) with a certain bit of the bridge bleeped (you can guess which!) they went off, grabbed the album and played that one instead :-D

Though after some complaints and the standards agency stepping in they only do that after 9pm now. Still, better than nothing. Can't stand it when they go censoring things at like 2 in the morning. Makes no sense.

Ok people, think this through. If you've ever heard someone say God d*** around a Christian, you most likely heard the Christian say something about it. I know I do, even though I hardly ever hear it. Someone might take it offensively or they might understand that saying that is using God's name in vain and they believe that is totally wrong...as I do. The station you were listening to might have saved themselves a lot of trouble by bleeping that one word out...and for the people who could care less if it was said, did it really kill them? I mean, they know what was taken out, they can say it if they want, it's just one word, what's the big deal?

Its because the word god was used before the word damned...
It depends on the radio station and the distributer where they get their music. Some will bleep one word, and some will bleep both words. If the word god was used alone, it wouldnt (shouldnt) be edited. Its not because the word god in general is religious in this case, its because of the phrase it is used in. People, get a grip =\

I think MTV bleeped that to. I think it is because it is an offensive cuss word. God is a religious figure, and many people would get offended by that word. I have never heard any radio or tv station actually play the entire word.

Personally, that is the one cuss word I can not stand at all.

The FCC has gotten more and more restrictive as people have gotten more and more "politically correct"...(or incorrect). Their latest is that they don't want to show live sporting events because as the cameras pan the crowd someone might say a "bad word" *gasp!* So they are trying to get the infamous 7-second delay on even that! Stupidity as far as I'm concerned.... People just need to get a little thicker skin and quit taking everything so damned personal.

They do not want to be heavily fined by the FCC. F*ck is indeed bleeped in the song. Living in the Bible Belt has a lot to do with it.

The FCC IS indeed on crack. I think they bleeped out God because it caused troubles with people and they thought it comprimised their religion.

well the god one is a little more offensive, i personal dont like to hear it, not that i read the bible or anything, just theres other things to say. as far as **** in jeremy, most people dont even notice its there. its not as obvious, but i guess i hear your point, maybe it was the time of day, or people were calling in to complain . it is taking his name in vain which is a little bigger sin than saying ***.
