Thats what managers do. They shuffle paper and do a bit of budgeting here and there, and then they let the little ant workers (like us) do the hard work, and then take the credit for it. Very rare to get one that passes on credit where its due. Dont sell yourself short and let em get away with it! If you get great ideas be vocal about it! Then you could be the manager and try change the way your company works!!!!

They may actually feel like they are. I used to work in an office where I felt like I was the Copy Queen. No one else, or at least they acted like it, had a clue how to work our copier. I think I told 4 individuals there at least a hundred times in the year I put up with it how to do what they were trying to do (usually reduce size of 11x17 sheets to 8.5 x 11 for fax purposes since our fax didn't autoshrink). It did my head in that they couldn't get how to do something so simple. One of the same people had no clue how to deal with Excel. How do you get a job in an office environment and not have a clue with excel?
There could be other stuff going on with the person,(you didn't give a whole lot of detail) and it can be difficult to deal with. I moved back in with my dad at the time I was working at that office, and my dad is IMPOSSIBLE to live with, which exacorbated any problems I had it work since I was already coming to work in a rough mood.
Just try to ignore it unless it's directly affecting you. I've been on both sides of the fence with a situation like this. If it's directly affecting you, try to remain civil. I can't give you any really specific advice without knowing more specifics.

Depends on the manager, my manager is really nice and has the attitude that she couldnt run the business without me, i guess some people have alot of arrogance and self importance and those are the ones who think that they could do it all by themselves. But think to yourself... if you and all your other colleagues quit on the same day at the same time, could your manager manage on their own? No. Unfortunatley without wanting to cause a problem it might be difficult to raise this concern of your with your manager, hopefully at some point in the near future they will need you and your colleagues more than he ever has done and that should teach him/her that he needs to respect you, for all the things that you do for him/her.
