First off,it's not Purgatory and neither is it someone's dream,though the show kinda makes you believe that it's perhaps Hurley's dream in "Dave".The directors themselves dismissed these above stated theories,so no dream or Purgatory.I think it's as real as you get,and that in the 3rd season the show will focus more on where they are and what they're doing there than on those "Others".I wouldn't be surprised if the show ended with no explanation whatsoever (X-Files,anyone? :)) )

First off Charlie and Kate end up together, duh.
But is it really Hurley's dream or is there some sick bad luck number twist?
The others of course will do a lot of crazy and torturous things before the big red cruise ship find everyone.
and Walt will be OK!

OMG I luv LOST. Its awesome. I think actually its just someone's dream on the plane. Or maybe they are in a science experiment like to see how people would react to a plane crash. Its the best and most action packed series ever!

I love LOST, but with the writing lately, I wouldn't be surprised if it all ends up being a dream. Or how about it's actually purgatory and they are waiting to meet God!

The whole thing is an experiment by a government-funded think tank composed of uber-intelligent scientists who don't have the common sense to (a) come in out of the rain and (b) realize that if these people (especially Sawyer and Kate) ever discover exactly what's being/been done to them, they will KILL them . . . SLOWLY!!!!!!!!!!!

I think it's a kind of a reality show (like a kind of cruel "truman show"), but the contestors are obvious not aware of that. The winner is the one who remains mentally sane. All events are set up for the purpose of making the contestors insane.

they're all dead, and this is Hell, or Heaven, or possibly purgatory.
OR the flight has been delayed, and this is a new simulation being tested to stop passengers from getting bored and riotting. They've really been in the airport the whole time.
