Count the Count was the best character, anyone who can make simultaneous thunder and lightening with a laugh has to be special. The best song was "One of these kids is doing his own thing." A tune we still use at work when someone gets something wrong or goes off on a tangent.
As for the plug being pulled, I think you can associate it with a rise in Street Crime and an increase in the number of children failing at school. There has never been a better "learning is fun" programme. Period!

There are tons of great classic Sesame Street moments on You Tube - including when they tell Big bird that Mr. Hooper died.
But my favorite song/skit is a bit more obscure... Madeline Kahn and Grover sing "Sing After Me" the echo song. Madeline Kahn was a genius.

My absolute fave was when the count was alittle boy and went to school, he was counting all the children.
it went like this.
I count gregory and Sue, number 1 and number 2
I count Boris and Igor, number 3 and number 4
Morris, Dean, and Eloise, 5-6-7 if you please
Gwenivere and Caroline, number 8 and number 9.
And then, I will count Ben, for ben is number 10.
Theeeeeers Gregory Sue and Morris
Igor, Eloise, and Boris.
Dean, Gwenivere, and Caroline and Bennnnnnnnnn
Ben is number 10!

The Stones have such countless tremendous hit songs that that is difficult to unmarried one out. If I had to easily choose one it ought to probable be "i will't get no pride", released in 1965. the reason? It has each and each and every of the hallmarks of the finest of the Stones - a memorable riff, tremendous vocals and a pounding beat.

Any part that had cookie monster. I thought it was cute when someone (dont remember who) tried to get him to eat carrots. Nice try putting a healthy promotion in there, but Cookie Monster rocks when he's chowing on those cookies! :)

Grover was one of my favorites, especially when he was SUPER Grover!! And Burt and Ernie were great too. I liked Big Bird, but only when Snuffy was around. =) My favorite Sesame Street is actually the christmas movie. I used to have it on VHS but watched it so much it no longer works. =(
