No,I don't think he is dead, He is still alive, he looks like to be a strong survivor, well protected, he is well trained for a similar situations!!! and I think he must be busy in re-strengthening Al-Qaeda after its destruction in Tora-Bora. On the other hand I guess he is preparing for something real big, something will make the whole world to stand on their feet, another attack that will be more fatal than 9/11, it even could be a nuclear attack!!! who knows!!!! also I expect us all to see him on TV screens announcing his or Al Qaeda's responsibility of that attack.

About his family...his big family are in Saudi, and they are living a normal life, because they are not a part of his acts and Al Qaeda, but if you are asking about his first family ( his wife and children ) well personally I don't see any reason to involve them too, I'm just being fair here, We never heard them participating in any of his doings!!! let them live or stay any were...who cares anyways!!!

The Bin Laden family is being protected by the US government.
Why did the government fly them out of the country right after 9/11? Ummmm....to PROTECT them!
Bush will announce the capture of Bin Laden shortly before his term is over.
It's all been pre-organized, and 1/2 of the country will bow in praise of Bush and all will be right with the world.
Suckers.

I don't believe anything I see puked out of the media.

In a variety of IM conversations with a friend in the Middle East, I learned that Bin Laden is not considered a villan.

He is alive! Bush knows where he is and Bin Laden is protected. Bin Laden's term is not expired yet. Bush will present Bin Laden before his term is expired. Got it?

One gets that feeling, as the videos are still erratically released and the statements so vague as to have been made at any time.

But then comes the scarier question: If Osama is dead, who is running Al-Q?
