absolutly not do not ever give personal infomation out like that you may think you know him but its the internet its full of scammers and rapist and horrible people. tell him that he can come to you first and meet you, but if u do meet him make sure u have someone else with you, altho asking you for ur passport i wudn't even meet him. i sure ur a wonderful person and can get a guy in the real world. have you thought about this like you will leave your country and leave your family and friends. do you really want to leave that for a guy you never met before?

You e-mailed this dude a copy of your passport? That wasn't the smartest move. Can we say "identity theft"?
Have you talked to this man on the phone or ever met him in person? He may not be who he says he is and you're taking his word for it. This could be very dangerous for you. I find it very hard to believe that he wants to get married as soon as you get to Quebec - he doesn't actually know you except through your chats on the Internet which don't really mean anything - people are completely different when chatting on the Internet. You might say you're not different, but maybe he is.
And if you're asking SHOULD you e-mail him your passport, my answer is NO. Go to Quebec for a visit first and see what happens, then if it works out (yeay for you!!) you can take the necessary steps to get a visa yourself.
Good luck

I have read numerous questions today and most of them were rubbish, foolish, stupid and irresponsible. However, this one takes the biscuit. You can be sure that your passport details have now been used to obtain credit cards, credit and a hundred and one other things that you will be held responsible for. Why on earth did you do such a stupid thing. The man could be a murderer, a child abuser, a madman or just a plain idiot.......... Tell your parents what you have done and see if there is any sanity salvageable from the situation.........

Change your internet name...and run!!! I would never give that info to anyone.. You want to visit Quebec, Canada you don't need a visa a passport is acceptable by the Canadian Customs.
I assume he's referring to a fiance visa that you acquire knowing you're marrying him in the next 2 months which are pretty much the same procedures in the U.S. His offer sound sooo creepy....

First of all you don't have to get a visa to get into canada and even if you did you can check with the state department to find out all the information that you need to know to do so, the same way that you're posting this question up on here you can do your homework and find out all you need to know.

Him aking you for that information can only lead to problems for you such as Identity theft and the list can grow from there.

Never give out personal information like that to strangers especially on the Internet, it's not too far off that terrorists won't try to do something like this to get into the US by asking for your information.

Come on!!! Why do you want to send your passport to him? Don´t do that - even if he sounds rich and say he can support you for the rest of your life.

Don't send him your passport, have him send his detailas to you, then go and see the local authorities to arrange your visa, if you send him your passport, he can easily sell details about you, or use your passport for illegal means.
