we used in our home cars from GM, Ford and Dodge and they all suck, many malfunctions and really stupid ones, materials for the interior are really bad.

Now we buy Japanese cars and European and it is such a relief from going to the serivce every few months and sending E-mails to Detroit camplaiging about their crappy cars.

Maybe you missed the memo, but Dodge is no longer American. Chrysler is part of Mercedees. I guess those Germans can't make cars?

All cars have issues and domestic cars had many in the past. Among current models (say the last 5 years) the quality/dependability gap has closed significantly. If you like European or Japanese cars, great. Many are manufactured in the USA. Nissan, Honda, Merceedes, BMW, Hyundai, and Toyota all have automotive plants with cars rolling off the line within four hours of my front door.

America is the mass market where is a Use n Throw concept and peoples allways look for the new, Europe, Japan or any other Asian countries they do not go through this mentality, they look at thelong term reliability so that is the reason all American products are moreover diffrent then the European or Asian products.Products in Asia or in the Europe are more then 200% expencive then which found in the America, now just think and calculate why are American cars are not reliable??

The Mini van had an electric powered situation that Honda couldn't make certain why it ought to easily close off. purchase a Chevy! I easily have an 06 2500hd Duramax and that i have not had one unmarried situation with it and that i force it 100 cases tougher then I drove those less expensive plastic Asian automobiles. playstation : maximum of yankee automobile aspects are made else the position like in China. and do not base your selection of a FORD.

The U.S. Auto industry has enjoyed a free ride on the "made in America" label for decades. Quality has always been a low priority.

Now, with increasing interest in the foreign market, and with foreign companies actually building their cars in the U.S., that free ride is coming to a very quick end.

All the major U.S. auto makers are now suffering from their lack of foresight. Specifically, their demand has tanked.

However, I predict a significant increase in quality from Ford and GM in the next 10 years. Either that, or they'll go bankrupt.

As far as Chrysler is concerned (including Dodge, of course) their relatively recent corporate changes are already paying off in terms of quality and popularity. They're actually making cars that people want to buy!

Most of the quality issues now isn't american.. It's parts Hecto in Mexico or any other $1/hour labor force building those parts.. Would you care as long as it worked going out the plant?

IT'S BECAUSE OF OVERPAID, LOW QUALITY WORKERS IN THE FACTORIES. NOT TO MENTION QA SUCKS IN US CAR MANUFACTURERS (ESPECIALLY FORD).

The ironical thing is that the folks who have managed
to keep old American cars on the road the longest are the
folks in CUBA. Perhaps Detroit should ask Havana.
