How do I convert a .mov file into an .avi, mpg, or mpeg?

I took video with my Nokia Coolpix 8800 VR and it is formated as a .mov file. I need it to be either an .avi, .mpg, or an .mpeg file. How do I do that?

Go to http://www.download.com and do a search for a .mov to .avi converter. You can use a software to convert the file to whatever format you wish.

Instead of just getting a program that ONLY converts, you might want to get a Video Editor so that you can play with your movies, edit them, add titles, and so forth. There are several video editors for under $100, such as Sony Vegas, Pinnacle, Magix Movie Edit, and so forth.

Just make sure that the one you buy will "import MOV files". All of them can output (export) AVI and MPG movies.

.mov is for quicktime player
