Which is more likely: That he really did walk on the moon, or that there was a massive worldwide conspiracy amongst hundreds of thousands of scientists, engineers and so on to deceive the public, for no particular reason?

I choose the former, on the basis that the conspiracy would have been vastly more expensive and more difficult than the reality.

Why do people find it hard to believe we actually sent men to the moon? Missiles have existed since the late 1800s, and the launch itself was witnessed by thousands of people.
