God is a jealous, vindictive, bellicose, sadist. "Mercy" is incompatible. Can you imagine how many people have died without ever even hearing the word "God"? God is not an equal-opportunity employer. God is a devil-worshiper. When you die and take that escaltor up to the pearly gates, God will look at your resume, laugh, and drop an anvil on you.

Many religious texts tell us that we are created in God's image. In the Bible Jesus is said to have used the words, 'ye are gods'. Thus I think we have potential within us to become more more godlike than we currently appear to be. Justification doesn't seem to matter, at least not in my opinion. It just is. We'll learn and mature as we experience cause and effect and maybe, hopefully, one day we'll stop fighting and being selfish and realize we're all from the same source and if we combine our efforts we are capable of creating a heaven on this planet.

How justified are you in thinking that God 'expects" something from you or other creatures?

He's give you a life, live it as you think is right, he'll be there only to judge you, maybe!

I don't believe any god actually expects perfection. what they expect, I think, is for us to try our best.
