easy, the EGG, reptiles were laying egg, long before the chicken ever evolved. and chickens evolved from reptiles, their scales evolved into feathers, and eventually you have birds with the ability of flight.
You did not mention if it was a chicken egg, you just said egg.

Has to be the chicken. An egg is created by the chicken so without a chicken you don't get an egg. And once laid, it must be cared for by the chicken to hatch, so, once again, the chicken must have come first.
The real question is where did the chicken come from? Answer that and you'll have solved one of the ancient questions of humankind.

It entirely depends on if you are a creationist or an evolutionist in your thinking.
Creationist - Chicken - as chicken eggs do not hatch if not incubated by chickens in the wild.
Evolutionist - Egg, as the creature who laid the egg that hatched out the first chicken, was not a chicken, but the precursor to the chicken.

The egg came first. Changes for creatures who live on land occur in the birth of their young. Whatever it was before it was a chicken, hatched the first chicken.
