I just got my ears pierced recently, too. I have an instruction care sheet, and it says to rotate all parts of the earring - front and back.

Way back when mine were done they always put in hoops so you just turned the whole hoop through a circle. Earrings were not allowed at school so I had it done at the beginning of the summer holidays then changed to tiny gold studs and covered them over with flesh coloured sticking plaster for another couple of months.
Never had any trouble with them since.

The gold bit at the front. The pole going through your ear needs to move. I used to bathe mine with warm, salted water. Never had a problem.

The gold ball in the front and make sure to use alcohol to keep it clean. It will heal in no time.

make sure you wash your hands first and then gently rotate the ball at the front, when it stops hurting a little bit it doesnt matter which bit you rotate.

use rubbing alcohol since peroxide and other things will make the hole close. put some alcohol on a cotton ball, and saturate the whole earring, front and back, will make it easier to turn, or do it in the shower when they are wet. helps:)

Hold the back and twist the front, then hold the front and twist the butterfly at the back. Use surgical spirit to keep it clean.

yea, hold the back and turn. it may hurt for a few seconds but the pain is bearable. If it ever gets infected use salt and luke warm water. it stings but it really does heal it. dont worry bout it.
