The U N just called for a cease fire, now wouldn't one think if some one was going to listen to the f__ U N then the U N could also call for no more terrorist attacks . the f__- U N what a joke.

Joke?.....A bad joke at best.
The United Nations has less strength than an infant....at least a baby can move his arms.
The long arm of the UN is shackled behind it's back rendered impotent because of the 'veto' with no provision for overriding this veto.
Even in America they have the power to override a presidential veto.
As long as that elusive provision continues to be ignored, real peace in the world will never be a viable option.
Anyone who thinks otherwise, I suggest he pull his head out of his rectum.

The UN is not a joke. There are a lot of angry people and some are fulled with hate against the Jews; so calling a cease fire at this point is not going to do anything especially if no one is willing to negotiate. The UN will have to wait it out until someone wins or give in anything they do at this point will only hurt the people caught in between.

What would the alternative be? The American World Police? Countries to just be allowed to do what ever they like? The UN called for a cease-fire because that is what the majority of the world wants. Only the US, Israel and the UK haven't called for a cease-fire, because they are much more interested in war than in peace.

The United Nations is a joke, that part you got right! This morning it was reported that Hezbollah used the area surrounding the UN Compound where the four "peace keeping" members of the UN were killed by Israel's fire, to launch rockets and fire at Israel. What the UN should do is build damns, roads, deliver humanitarian aid etc. but stop pretending to do anything else. All they do when involved in a war is get in the way. Thanks

The UN has no power unless nations are willing to put force behind their decisions....but since only a select few are willing to do this they will go the way of the League of Nations in another couple of Decades......look at its history....the only times the UN has had a bite is when their decisions were backed by the US or UK.

Its a huge moral burden the UN is carrying. Perhaps the world would be a better place if we listen to them more often. But will we?
