No. Humans overestimated God when humans created God to comfort their discomfort in not understanding existence. Of course since humans created God, naturally we consider ourselves God's gift to the universe at the highest level of the chain of existence.

different belief system define God in different way. In hindu philosophy it is said that " Pragnya naama Brahma, Ayam aatman Brahman, Aaham Brahma asmi, tad tvam asi"
this means that the whole movable and UN movable objects on this universe are manifestation of one basic thing that is brahma and that is a kind of awareness. and everything in this universe including all of us are part of same Brahma and this brahma is named as God - 'paramatman' so men or man and God are not different but are one. the sum-total of the combined consciousness (Brahma) is God and as we cannot over or underestimate our selves God cannot do that at the same time as we fail to do something but we keep trying to do it better next time same way God keeps trying through us to evolve a better world and the world only reflects what our combined conscious accepts as right thing to do. it is only when all the part of the larger entity realizes that one should do not only what is right to do for our pleasure and survival but one should also see that it doesn't affect any other negatively for others pleasure or survival then we may have better world.

Hard to say. We've certainly done more than I believe he intended, but at the same time we didn't follow the guidlines he set, so he kind au nderesimated us too.

If there is a creator.... Yes he/she/it has made a serious overestimation on all of us!
