Up to a point it's important, being clean and not skanky. But designer labels and being in fashion are not important to me. I prefer people with their own "style" rather than borrowing someone elses.

Actually the way someone dresses does reflect not just on themselves, but on people they are associated with.
If you work for a company and dress like a slob, then it reflects poorly on the company.
However, wearing designer labels is all about status. Its trying to show people that you are a so wealthy you can throw away money on clothes because of a name.
In the real world it doesn't matter, any more then driving a BMW or living in the "Right" neighrborhood.
You dont need a polo horse on your shirt or a swoosh on your shoes to fit in.

Dress is important for work. If you want to be treated like a professional you need to look like one. Away from work should mimic your personality. If you are clean, clothes are clean all is good! It would be pretty tacky on your end to dis someone because of the way they dress.

the most important thing about how you dress is being comfortable. If someone is comfortable then they are confident. People usually don't hand around people by the way they dress because of their own insecuritys. Believe me you want to befriend anyone who is confident enough to dress the way that makes them comfortable for who they are. Alot more to be learned from these people.

its VERY important to me the way someone dresses. not the label is important, but the originality, the style, i hate imitators and copies, each person should have his own style.but if i like very much a person, if that person has great personality, i think i wouldnt care how he would dress, but when i see a well dressed person, im immediately attracted to him!

I think certain situations require certain clothing other than that I say be comfortable and most of all... be yourself. I never understood why everyone has to have the same clothes in order to be popular. I have always been a 'jeans and t-shirt' kinda gal and always will be. I really don't care what other people think of me or my clothes.

I don't care anything about name brands. Plain and appropriate are perfectly fine with me.
Neither do I enjoy hanging around individuals who wear pants below their butts.
Neither do I enjoy hanging anyone seemingly trying to be deliberately provocative or seemingly trying to draw all the attention to himself / herself.
