Not at all, but you do need your parents permission in most salons now. Tell them what you want to do, and state reasons for it and make it sound very thought out. Maybe they'll agree to it.

The thought of remembering your brother is great it is hard to lose someone we hold dear to us and love. However, a tattoo to mark or make a memorial of a deceased person has always seemed weird to me personally and the fact that your only 15 means you may have many years to regret the ink stains on your skin when your mature and all grown up. Is it possible that you are using the "in memory of" as a rationale for why it's ok and acceptable to get a tattoo. Isn't there some other way you could pay tribute to your brother that he would appreciate if he was here, something that can be enjoyed by the others that loved and lost him? I think 15 is a bit young, if you feel the same in 3-7 years then do it,the cause will remain unchanged.

When I read the question I thought "way to young" a tattoo is something you will have the rest of your life...and that is true. However since it would be in honor of someone who was so very close to you I can understand...I lost a sister. Since your still questioning your thoughts maybe you could get a piercing in your ear cartilage and wear his birthstone or something. Piercings are not "permanent" and when you finally make your mind up to go with a tattoo you just take the jewel out.

Absolutely, a tattoo is something you really need to think about, after all it is permanent! I think that's a great idea for a tattoo, something you won't ever regret getting on you. The only thing is you might regret ever getting a tattoo at all. Wait until you're at least 17, and think about how it's going to look after all that time in the sun, and your skin going through so much, if you still want it, go for it, there's always laser removal, right?

A tattoo is a permanent branding.

Is the message so important to you, and will it remain so, for the rest of your life? Could there be a more appropriate memorial to his memory?

What would a future employer, mate, or child think of you, and your choices?

Have you consulted your parents?

I was in the military for 20 years, as was my wife, and we have no tattoos. She mentioned to me that a person with a tattoo is often a person who makes poor choices, or who is influenced by 'fashion' or FADS, or friends... none of which is still here, still around, 20 years later...

What would be the most mature decision you could demonstrate now, and for the rest of your life?

not completely inappropriate, I got one when I was 15...but good luck finding some one that will do it...you will of course need your parents permission. I think its a great reason to get one, just think hard about what u want. But then again it can always be covered up with a better tattoo if u end up not liking it in a few years...just be safe, make sure the artist is clean, sterile, and sober!!!!!!!!

Think about it very carefully for at least a year or two. Chose your tatoo wisely cause it will be there for life. Try having it drawn on paper and ask someone to draw on you a copy of it.

At your age, i wanted to get my eyes tattooed in the back, between my shoulder, but of course my mom didnt want me to. So i asked my artistic sister to draw me some fake eyes using pens of different color. i though it looked fantastic. yet.. years past and i wasnt tattooed, i was scared of the pain. But, at the dawn of my 21th birthday, i went to the tattoo shop and got inked. It didnt hurt that much... but a year after i got a tribal tatoo down the back... 3 hours of pain! it was worth it.. but i didnt got new tatoos since.

so i guess everything is a personnal decision. if you re mature enough and that u really want it and have though of it for a WHILE (1 year), i say, go for it! But if you have to get parents permission and they dont want to give it to you... well, wait a couple more years until youre free to do it all alone.

Good luck.

wait till u are legal 2 get one it will also give u a chance to decide if u really want it.im a great believer that tattoos resemble things that have happened in ur life. i have 2 and love them but i thought about them long and hard before i got them an im 21. all i would say 2 u is wait till u are old enough. and it does hurt but just remember its a temporary pain good luck

No. It's not only inappropriate it's bad because you are not finished growing yet and depending on where you get it, it may stretch with your skin and not look very good when you finish growing. Also, as you are young you might have to go somewhere dodgy to get it because you are underage. it would be best to wait a few years so that you can get a good quality one - you wouldn't want to live with something that isn't what you wanted.Keep your brothers memory alive in other ways.

It's not necessarily inappropriate, but you won't be able to get one until your 18 and in some states 21. It would be wiser to wait the extra time to make sure that you know EXACTLY what you want and where bc once you get it it's there for life!! Also you want to make sure that it's something you'll be proud to show off when your 30, 50, 80, etc.

There is no harm in getting a tattoo. No one can tell you its good or bad. Just try to think that this tattoo will be there for rest of your life.

Think of some good, bad, worse scenarios where you may not want this tattoo...

If you feel you can carry it with u always .. good.. go ahead !

BTW, sorry to hear about your brother.
