Please give an explanatory answer!

To start with - understand the concept of calculus. What does it mean. What is its use. The technical knowhow of it. Then learn to derive some of the basic formulae of calculus. Reason out why these formulae hold true. With sufficient practice and experience you must be able to memorise some of the standard results. Then try solving certain numericals. Start from the simplest and then increase the difficulty. It is advisable to have it checked by an experienced teacher. At the end it is always a good idea to get variety in the type of problems you solve.
Remember no one has mastered calculus, some of the more complex problems are yet to be solved. You might have just begun. But who knows, they might be there for you to solve.

You can master calculus by understanding that both the derivative and integral are infinite average sums. However, in order to understand average sums, you have to understand finite differences because this where derivatives came from. An excellent website is:

I first linked to this site from Wolfram/Mathworld where I was searching for proofs of the mean value theorem.

I must admit, I don't understand all of it but I have written computer programs and tested some of the finite difference formulas - they work as the author claims. There are some concepts I have also never seen anywhere else. This site is very different to all the others.

I am still studying this site so I cannot tell you it is without any errors. As you know, all sites have errors - some more than others.

Differentiation - really just about finding the slope of a line at some point. A curve is just a really groovy line.
Just think of it as simple multiplication.

ax^2 +bx+c - is a cool curvy line, now differentiate w.r.t x
2ax + b - this is the equation for a straight line that just touches the cool curve. Or the gradient of your curve at that point.

differentiate a term that doesn't include x - and it goes away (I love those guys)

Integration - really about finding the area under the line between two values. Is the reverse operation (kinda) of differentiation. It's nice and mysterious because we always include a constant to indicate an "unknown" .

Just practice a whole lot and when you go to Engineering school they'll tell you it was all a lie and talk to you about Laplace transforms and Fourier analysis and you'll be really glad you got this whole calculus thing

if you master the differential calculus integral calculus will become your slave as integration is the inverse process of differentiation and conceptually both are similar.one deals with microscopic quantities while the other deals with macroscopic quantities.for mastering the differential calculus you need to master the limits for which you have to master the entire precalculus

There are 2 books that I use for my AP Physics/Calculus class. One is called "How to Ace Calculus". It's extremely helpful. There's also "The Cartoon Guide to Physics". I'm not sure about that one yet, I haven't looked through it. But, these may help you understand.

known is Thomas Calculus

It contains every possible explanation regarding calculus.

master your basic algebra, trigonometry, geometry, etc. there is no way mastering differential and integral calculus without them.

you don't hop going up the stairs. you take it a step at a time.

practice makes perfect. :-)
