Let's suppose there's room for 1 more presidential figure on Mt. Rushmore. Of the presidents who held office after Theodore Roosevelt, who would be your candidate for this honor and why?

I know people like you like to hide behind anonymity. Sitting behind some computer screen boohooing away about the world seems to be your pastime. I came from extreme poverty my friend. Worked hard all my life with a limited education. Today after 40 years of hard work, I have plenty to show for it. It's not how you make your money that matters. It's what you do with it. You complain you can't get a break in America...get off your butt.

Ronald Reagan. He was at the helm when the fall of Soviet communism occurred, subsequently ushering in the chance for freedom with all its pains and growth to the rest of Europe and parts of Asia. He single-handedly changed the face of the American political canvas and brought a level of charisma back to where it was sorely needed. Finally, if you've ever read the collection of letters he wrote to his wife Nancy, you'll agree that that type of love and devotion is all too rare to go unheralded. He was truly a man for all seasons.

Harry S.Truman Whom understood how to quickly put an end to a group of people who's motto was never surrender! Same traumatic warfare needs applying to those whom think the un-level playing field of economics is some how fair for anyone who applies themselves in our current structure! Muse you don't have a clue as to who i am or what type of life i live nor do you realize what its like to live in poverty that nearly 40% of the 300 million Americans deal with! If by slim chance you were financially insecure your clueless to your status!

No one. The party's over. It's time for new memorials with a new flair from this era. For example the Viet Nam War Memorial.
But, ok, you asked. I would pick a President who knows the Constitution and who well understands that the Executive Branch appears in article TWO and that the PEOPLE come first, as represented in Congress, in article ONE.
As well as a President who promotes civic participation and does not engage in name calling.
Our current President does not qualify, under these criteria.

Ronald Reagan.
Because he was the Great Communicator. I know a lot of peeps don't like him, but he did a lot of good things.
Clinton and Baby Bush are still alive--otherwise I would have picked them. Maybe Carter too.
Ok, I changed my mind. Kennedy, because he did a lot for civil rights and he (supposedly) averted war during the Cold War era.

FDR or JFK, beside Clinton, who still lives (you can't make a memorial to a living person), were the best two Presidents we've had in the modern era.

I would add FDR and Reagan - make room for two!
Please the left AND the right!
:)
PS I would consider Truman also, maybe. I think JFK is overrated - he was good, but not one of the greats. He didn't serve long enough to really leave his mark.
