I have short fence, so people on the street can easily pluck them out as they are newly planted. Building a tall fence requires a permit and is too expensive. I thought about tying them all together by wire at the base but am open to other suggestions.

On the inside of your fence place chicken wire over the plants to shield them from the top. Basically cover them by installing the chicken wire parallel to the fence then bend the chicken wire slightly over the flowers froming a C<--your flowers would be right under here, that way people walking by would have a birds eye view of chicken wire. You can paint the chicken wire white, to make it look fancy before installing it into the ground.

There are a bunch of great idea's here. I like the idea with the motion detecting frog. I know that sounds really tacky. But my mother used to have one and they are pretty loud. That probably would work. You can also get them in dogs that bark and other animals that make louds noises. If your not sure what these things are, they look like just everyday little garden statues but they have a small sensor inside them and any time the detect motion they start making noise. Of course you can turn them off and on, so you are not setting it off yourself all the time. You can get them in places like Wal-mart. I am really sorry to hear about your plants, thats awful. I cant believe some of the things people in this world will do anymore. I hope you find a simple solution to your problem. Good Luck.

That's terrible! Well, I guess you could put up one of those kitschy garden frogs, the kind with the motion sensor that croak if you go by. Hmmmm, or maybe leave a note on the plants that if any more disappear you'll sit up watching and call the police or something. I don't know - good luck! I'm sorry about your plants.

Place a Motion sensor light in the area, so when somone comes into the yard the light turns on- if that does not work, baby sit a few nights with a shotgun, its probably only one person-

This happened to me too. I planted some pretty bushes that had thorns that weren't very visible in with the other plants. I also thought of pioson ivy, but with my luck, I'd end up with it too! It seemed to help.

Get a trail timer camera. It is chained around a tree then it is motion activated and takes pics. then you have proof of who or what is stealing your plants
