Well I am English and I do not belive the French smell. I have lived in England all my life and have never heard such a thing. However, I have heard Americans say it!!! I really do not understand why we English always get a bad rep for comments like this when it is more often than not a person of a different nationality making the comments. I love the French, they are our neighbours!

Every Nation Has Stereo Types.
The Italians are **** sure, yuppy types driving Ferrari's or Mafia Types. The French are all farmers growing onions, and live in run down chataux. The Germans are all be specticled, weasel like, with no sense of humour. The Dutch are Pot smoking porn lovers. The Americans are overweight and stupid with no common sense. The British are lagerlout Hooligans who always drink Tea. The Scottish are loud and brash who are always drunk. The Irish are always drunk and can't use English language properly. I can go on, but I Won't.

you mean the ones who have never been to France or met a French person? Lol. It's rather like saying all Germans put ketchup on everything they eat, or all Italians pinch bums, or all Swedes run around naked. We tend to think of racism as a colour thing but comments like the above prove it's not. Personally I've always found the French plumbing, German food, Italian manners and Swedish clothes used in abundance!

Where do you people come up with questions like this? In my entire life, I have never heard of this about French people, neither in France or french speaking Canada.

They don't. I thought the Americans thought that.

Since the French invented the bidet (ie, actually WASHING after visiting the loo) I'd say they were probably cleaner than most.

People are typecast by minorities. It is like that for every country.

As soon as you say you are from Italy people think you must be an amazing cook.

If you say you are from USA, people think arrogant and self obsessed.

If you say you are from South Africa, people think racist.

It is ridiculous people dont wait to get to know the individual they simply put them in a box with the minorities from that country that live like that.

Very sad indeed.

South African people think English people don't bath enough. One of my friends flew from Johannesburg to London ( a long sticky flight) and arrived at relatives who said she could only bath on Thursday (this was Monday) as they only turn on the hot water on Thursday!
