Because women have boobies. And hoo-hoos.
No, seriously - women's buttons are on the other side to make it easier for men to unbutton them. It's the mirror image, see? So if they were on the other side, the men would never be able to get the women's clothes open, and there would be no more babies, and the human race would become extinct.

i remember hearing this... a long time ago when kings and queens and such were around... the queens had someone dress them and the buttons were made so that it was easier for other people to put their clothes on them... so they changed the buttons around..
