Computer Slow

Download and then run startup.exe (FREEWARE) at:

http://www.mlin.net/startupcpl.shtml......

Can't live without it and windows...

Then disable and/or uninstall whatever u don't need.

Other things to try:

1 - Disk Cleanup (removal of temp files, cookies, etc.)
2 - Defrag
3 - Registry Cleanup (CAN BE VERY RISKY!)

ALL ELSE FAILS - RELOAD YOUR O/S (WINDOWS) AND THEN REINSTALL ALL OTHER PROGRAMS YOU NEED/USE!

I used to recommend Adaware, then it was Spyware Nuker (I still love the guys that wrote that software), but today, I can't recommend anything other that Microsoft Windows Defender.

Microsoft released this software about a year ago and called it the Anti-Spyware Beta. It has recently changed names to Windows Defender. It's free, although I've heard rumors that they might start charging for it at some point.

You can download it here...

It's in it's 2nd beta and is rock solid stable. It works very well. I haven't had a spyware infection problem since I've been running it.

You could also try here. One of my Spyware Article Sites...

To resolve the issue, we have to install anti-spyware software and remove the spyware from the system. It is recommended to download Spysubtract software from the following weblink:

http://www.intermute.com/spysubtract/hp/

For more information about Spyware, Adware, and Browser Hijacking Software, please visit the following weblink:

Alternately, you can even try any other spyware removal procedures and cleaning the temporary internet files.

You tried the msconfig option so that didnt work, so I'm assuming that its your Windows Security thats warning you of this malicious spyware in your system.

Go to http://www.microsoft.com/security/malwareremove/default.mspx and then see if microsoft will scan your computer and remove it for you. If it doesnt, there are other programs like avg, avast, and pest patrol that will remove it for you.

I recommend http://www.pestpatrol.com
