Its been recently claimed that the level of Brits heading abroad to start new lives in foreign lands has increased quite considerably. The most popular destinations are said to be USA, France, Spain & Australia (obviously there are other places in addition to these)

So then if you had the chance to emigrate, where would you goto and why? ALSO what would your reason(s) be for leaving UK anyway?

I did live in Japan in for four years which was good but to actually emigrate i might choose US or Aus. I think Britain is becoming too messed up with liberal do-gooders making the UK a bit of a laughing stock!

I'm a Brit and would like to emigrate to either Canada or Aus. The main reason is everything is so damn expensive! I can have upto a £73 grand morgage but i'm really struggling to find someting half decent. I just want a better quality of life without having to pay through the nose.

I did it over a year ago to the Canary Islands. Good weather all year round. Much cheaper cost of living.

UK excessively taxed, utilities grossly over priced. Police and the courts have become a symbol of ridicule and the UK has probably the most corrupt government it has ever had.

Six other families emigrated at about the same time we did and for the same reasons.

I moved away with my family to Spain for two years but it was just like being in England but better weather! Too many Ex-Pat Criminals over there! I moved back to England but my family love it there.

I like the idea of Oz but it's v difficult to get I think my ultimate destination to emigrate to would be Hawaii.

Ah! No, don't choose the US - it's got conservatives making us... well, a lot worse than a laughing stock. I always thought it'd be fun to live in New Zealand. It just looks so pretty there - all of the sheep-farming territory. That or the other two (US and Aus.) would definitely be more conservative for you, at least.

Did it last year. Quit blighty & moved to Dubai. Working in south africa, Tehran (which is a great place to live by the way & NOT full of religous fanatics) & soon to go to Libya.
Its the best thing I`ve done & should have done it years ago. Home is where you make it!!
