There's enough adverts to fill a show for these "healthy bacteria" products. Is there any evidence that they work, make you healthier or make you feel more active? Who has tried them?

Healthy bacteria has been around for years in live natural yoghurt which I eat by the bucketful as I love it, its also present in other types of sugar free yoghurts too...

A lot of advertising spin if you ask me.... which causes people to experience the placebo effect.

If you have a problem caused by yeast fermentation in the gut, natural yoghurt will relieve it. If you haven't, no amount of probiotic foods or drinks will improve your health.

If you have high blood pressure, the lecithin in Benecol might help, although something from your doctor would be better. If you don't have high blood pressure, Benecol won't improve your health.

i like the taste of activia yoghurts, thats why i buy them. But personally they have made no difference to my digestive system whatsoever.

having said that, i dont have the most delicate constitution, i very rarely get stomach upsets, never throw up even when heavily intoxicated and coffee doesnt keep me awake. Maybe people with more delicate systems benefit from the products.
